An AMG is not a Mercedes with a bigger engine, and servicing it as one is where most problems start. The hand-built V8 has its own fluid specification, the MCT transmission has its own adaptation procedure, and carbon-ceramic brakes are measured rather than eyeballed. We treat all three as separate jobs. AMG owners here often come after a dealer quote that treats the car as a standard Mercedes with a larger bill. We price the work that the car actually needs, and where the AMG procedure differs from the standard one, we explain what that difference is.

Mercedes-AMG faults we see most

  • Engine mount collapse on the V8

    Symptom
Vibration at idle that disappears under load.
    Fix
Mounts tested individually — hydraulic mounts fail without looking damaged.
  • MCT harshness pulling away

    Symptom
Shunt or hesitation from a standstill.
    Fix
Adaptations reset and fluid condition assessed before any mechanical work.
  • Carbon-ceramic disc wear

    Symptom
Uneven bite or noise under braking.
    Fix
Discs weighed and measured to the manufacturer wear limit, not judged by eye.
  • Differential noise on the rear axle

    Symptom
Whine or clunk under load on a rear-drive car.
    Fix
Fluid condition and mounting checked before the differential is opened.

What happens after you call

  1. Call or WhatsApp

Tell us what the car is doing. We book a slot that suits you.

  2. Diagnostics

Factory-level scan of every module, then a physical inspection to confirm it.

  3. Written estimate

Parts and labour itemised, so you see what you are paying for.

  4. You approve

Nothing is touched until you say yes.

  5. The work

Genuine or matching OEM parts, photographed as we go.

  6. Handover

Questions

Is AMG servicing different from Mercedes servicing?

Yes. Different oil specification, different transmission procedure and different brake service. Treating an AMG as a standard Mercedes is the most common mistake we correct.

Do you service carbon-ceramic brakes?

Yes, measured to the wear limit rather than replaced on appearance.

Do you work on the G 63?

Yes, including the transfer case and differential locks.

Can you service an AMG to schedule and keep the history?

Mercedes-AMG schedules a service every 12 months or 16,000 km, whichever comes first. In Dubai we bring the oil forward to about 10,000 km: at 45 °C oil oxidises faster than the European interval assumes. We use MB-Approval 229.5 full synthetic, and a minor service is from AED 850.

How much does a Mercedes-AMG service cost in Dubai?

A minor service is from AED 850 and a major service from AED 3,150 at our workshop in Al Quoz. The figure depends on engine size and on what the inspection finds — C 63, E 63, GT 63 and G 63 do not all cost the same. You get an itemised estimate before anything is touched, and nothing happens until you approve it.

Do you offer a warranty on Mercedes-AMG repairs?

Yes — 6 months on parts and labour for Mercedes-AMG work carried out in our own workshop in Al Quoz. Genuine Mercedes-AMG parts carry the manufacturer cover on top of ours. The term is written into the estimate before you approve the job, so you know what is covered in advance.

How long does a Mercedes-AMG service take?

A minor service takes the same working day; a major service one to two working days. Diagnostics take two to three hours — we scan every module, then confirm the fault physically before quoting. Repairs get a date once the cause is known, rather than an estimate guessed from the symptom.

Mercedes-AMG Service in Dubai

An AMG is not a Mercedes with a larger engine, and servicing it as one is where most of the problems we correct begin. The hand-built V8 has its own oil specification. The MCT transmission has its own adaptation procedure that a generic service skips entirely. Carbon-ceramic brakes are measured and weighed against a wear limit rather than judged by looking at them. Three separate jobs, and a workshop that treats them as one will get all three approximately right and none of them properly.

In this climate the engine mounts deserve particular attention. The hydraulic mounts on the V8 cars collapse without looking damaged, and the symptom — vibration at idle that disappears under load — is easy to dismiss. Left alone it transmits load into things that cost considerably more. We test mounts individually rather than inspecting them visually, because visual inspection tells you almost nothing about a hydraulic mount.

The range is broad and not uniform. The C 63 and E 63 are performance sedans. The GT 63 is a different platform again. The G 63 adds a transfer case and three differential locks, which need their own service attention that a road-biased AMG never requires. The A 45 is a four-cylinder with an entirely separate set of concerns. The SL 63 brings a folding roof mechanism into the picture. We treat them as the different cars they are.

Parts are genuine by default. On carbon-ceramic brakes especially we will not fit an alternative, and we measure discs to the manufacturer wear limit rather than replacing them on appearance — these are expensive components and many are replaced long before they need to be. An unbroken specialist service history holds value on AMG cars specifically, and we record every visit.

Book by phone or WhatsApp with the model and the symptom. Diagnostics first, written estimate second, work only once approved. Everything is done in our own workshop in Al Quoz.

Owners frequently arrive after a dealer quote that treats the car as a standard Mercedes carrying a larger bill, and it is worth explaining where the real differences sit. Oil specification and volume are different. The transmission adaptation procedure is different and is genuinely skipped by workshops that do not know it exists. Brake service on carbon-ceramic discs involves measurement rather than inspection. Where the AMG procedure costs more, we explain why. Where it does not, we do not charge as though it did.

Fluid intervals deserve a closer look on these cars. Transmission fluid described as lifetime fill is not lifetime fill in forty-five degree ambient temperatures, and differential fluid on a rear-drive AMG works harder here than the schedule assumes. We advise on shortened intervals where the evidence supports it, and we say clearly when the standard interval is genuinely sufficient rather than inventing work.
