What this covers

A clutch job is expensive because of the labour, not the part, so it is worth being certain first. Slipping can come from a leaking rear main seal, a failing slave cylinder or, on dual-clutch cars, from adaptation values that have drifted. We check those before quoting the big job.

Booked in for this? Owners often ask about bumper repair in Dubai, car inspection at our Al Quoz workshop and our engine repair work at the same time — one visit covers all of it.

The work

Diagnosis

Clutch bite point, hydraulics and adaptations checked before disassembly.

Clutch replacement

Disc, cover and release bearing, with the flywheel measured.

Dual-clutch service

Fluid, filter and adaptation reset on DSG-type transmissions.

Hydraulics

Master and slave cylinders, which fail far more often than the clutch itself.

What happens after you call

  1. Call or WhatsApp

Tell us what the car is doing. We book a slot that suits you.

  2. Diagnostics

Factory-level scan of every module, then a physical inspection to confirm it.

  3. Written estimate

Parts and labour itemised, so you see what you are paying for.

  4. You approve

Nothing is touched until you say yes.

Questions

The clutch feels soft — is it worn?

Often it is the hydraulics, not the clutch. That is a much smaller job, and it is the first thing we check.

Do you replace the flywheel with the clutch?

Only if it measures out of tolerance. We show you the reading rather than replacing it by default.

Do you work on dual-clutch gearboxes?

Yes, including fluid service and adaptation resets.

How much does clutch work cost in Dubai?

We quote clutch work once the fault is traced, not before. Diagnostics are from AED 250 and that figure comes off the bill if you go ahead. What you get is an itemised estimate — parts and labour separately — and nothing is started until you approve it.

How long does clutch work take?

Normally two to five working days. We book a slot rather than a queue, so the car is worked on when you bring it in. If the job turns out to need longer once it is apart, you hear the reason and the new date before we carry on.

Is the work covered by a warranty?

Yes — 6 months on parts and labour for work carried out in our own workshop in Al Quoz. Where a part carries its own manufacturer cover, that applies on top. The term goes into the estimate before you approve the job, not into the invoice afterwards.

Clutch Repair in Dubai

A clutch job is expensive because of the labour rather than the parts, and that is exactly why it is worth being certain before starting. Removing a gearbox is most of the bill on any modern car, and a slipping clutch is not always a clutch. A leaking rear main seal contaminating the friction surface, a failing slave cylinder, or worn hydraulics can all produce symptoms that look identical from the driver’s seat.

Hydraulics are the first thing we check because they are the most common cause and the cheapest fix. A master or slave cylinder that is passing fluid internally gives a soft pedal, a bite point that moves and difficulty selecting gears — all of which owners reasonably interpret as a worn clutch. Replacing a cylinder is a fraction of the cost and a fraction of the time, and we would rather find that first than after the gearbox is on the floor.

Where the clutch does need replacing, the flywheel is measured rather than replaced by default. Dual-mass flywheels wear and many genuinely need replacement, but a proportion are within tolerance and are replaced simply because the gearbox is already out. We measure and show you the reading. If it needs doing, it needs doing; if it does not, we say so and note the measurement for next time.

Stop-start traffic is harder on clutches than any other driving pattern, and Dubai supplies plenty of it. A manual car used mostly in traffic will reach the end of a clutch considerably sooner than the same car on open roads, and there is nothing wrong with the car or the driver. Knowing that helps set expectations rather than leaving an owner feeling something has failed prematurely.

Dual-clutch transmissions are a separate discipline. Fluid and filter service, adaptation resets and mechatronic diagnosis handle most complaints, and the clutch packs themselves are rarely the first answer. We treat DCT work as transmission work rather than clutch work, because approaching it as a conventional clutch is how unnecessary parts get fitted.

Call or message with what the car is doing: slipping under load, judder pulling away, a soft pedal or difficulty selecting gears each point somewhere different. Diagnosis first, written estimate second.

Timing is worth planning. A clutch replacement takes a day or more depending on the car, and a gearbox that is already out is the cheapest moment to attend to anything else in that area — a rear main seal, a clutch fork, a worn release bearing or a leaking gearbox seal. We will tell you what is worth doing while the car is apart and what is simply padding the invoice. The distinction matters, and it is easier to trust an answer from a workshop that draws it clearly than one that finds three extra jobs every time.
