Brake & Tyre Service in Dubai

Discs measured, not guessed. Replaced in axle pairs, with the sensors that go with them.

What this covers

Brakes on a heavy European car wear differently from what the service book predicts, especially in Dubai traffic. We measure disc thickness and runout before quoting, so you replace what is worn and keep what is not.

Booked in for this? Owners often ask about clutch repair in Dubai, bumper repair at our Al Quoz workshop and our car inspection work at the same time — one visit covers all of it.

The work

Pads and discs

Measured, then replaced in axle pairs. Genuine or matching-quality OEM.

Wear sensors

Replaced with the pads, not reused — a reused sensor is a warning light waiting to happen.

Brake fluid

Tested for moisture and renewed on schedule.

Tyres and alignment

Fitting, balancing and four-wheel alignment after suspension or brake work.

Questions

Why do you replace brakes in pairs?

Uneven braking across an axle pulls the car under hard stops. Replacing one side alone saves a little and costs stability.

My steering shudders when I brake — what is it?

Usually disc runout. We measure it before deciding whether the discs can be machined or need replacing.

Do you fit genuine parts?

Genuine or matching OEM from the supplier that makes the part for the factory. Both are offered with the price of each in the estimate, so the decision is yours rather than ours. Fluids are always to the manufacturer specification — that we do not substitute.

How much does brake work cost in Dubai?

From AED 1,750 at our workshop in Al Quoz. The figure moves with the car and with what the check finds, so treat it as a starting point rather than a quote. It covers discs measured against the manufacturer minimum, pads and discs replaced in axle pairs, wear sensors included. You see the itemised estimate before any work begins.

How long does brake work take?

Normally the same working day. We book a slot rather than a queue, so the car is worked on when you bring it in. If the job turns out to need longer once it is apart, you hear the reason and the new date before we carry on.

Is the work covered by a warranty?

Yes — 6 months on parts and labour for work carried out in our own workshop in Al Quoz. Where a part carries its own manufacturer cover, that applies on top. The term goes into the estimate before you approve the job, not into the invoice afterwards.

Brake and Tyre Service in Dubai

Brakes on a heavy European car wear differently here than the service book predicts. Stop-start traffic means far more brake applications per kilometre than open-road driving, and high ambient temperature means the whole system runs hotter between them. Discs and pads therefore reach their limits by hours of use rather than by distance, which is why we measure rather than estimate from mileage.

Disc thickness and runout are both measured before anything is quoted. Thickness tells you whether the disc has life left; runout tells you why the car judders under braking, which is the most common complaint we hear and the one most often answered by replacing pads that were fine. A disc within thickness limits but out of true will judder with new pads exactly as it did with the old ones, and the owner has paid twice.

Discs and pads are replaced in axle pairs, always. Uneven braking across an axle pulls the car under hard stops and loads one side of the suspension more than the other. Replacing a single side saves a modest amount and costs stability at exactly the moment stability matters. Wear sensors are replaced with the pads rather than reused, because a reused sensor is a warning light waiting to appear.

Pad compound is a genuine choice rather than a catalogue lookup. A compound intended for track use is noisy, dusty and poor when cold, which describes most driving in this city. A compound chosen for a cool climate fades under sustained hard use here. We ask how the car is actually driven before selecting, and for most owners the standard specification is the correct answer.

Brake fluid is tested rather than replaced on a schedule. It absorbs moisture from the air over time, and moisture lowers the boiling point, which is what produces a long pedal after several hard stops. Testing takes a minute and tells you whether the fluid needs changing now or at the next service. On cars used hard or on track, the interval is genuinely shorter than the book suggests.

Tyres are inspected at the same visit: tread depth, wear pattern and date code. Wear pattern tells us whether the geometry needs attention, and date code matters more than most owners expect — at these road temperatures a tyre ages out well before the tread is used. Call or message to book, and tell us if the car judders, pulls or squeals so we know what to look for first.

One thing worth knowing about warranty and brakes. Brake components are wear items, and replacing them at an independent workshop has no bearing on a manufacturer warranty provided the specification is correct and the work is recorded. Owners are sometimes told they must return to a dealer for brakes specifically. That is not the case, and we document every replacement with part numbers so the record is unambiguous.
